Create a Lasting Impact on Children’s Mental Health in Your Community, State, or Region

Are you looking to be at the forefront of addressing a key societal challenge and make a sustainable impact in your community? REACH welcomes new partners to join us in expanding access to high-quality mental health care so that no child or family goes without the support they need to thrive.

Across the country, mental health systems are overwhelmed, and families often face months-long waits to see a specialist. That’s why we believe every primary care provider (PCP) should have the skills and confidence to deliver effective mental health care within the scope of their practice.

The current system creates inefficiencies, drives up costs, leaves providers frustrated, and, most importantly, causes harmful delays for children and families who need help now. PCPs, when equipped with evidence-based mental health skills, play a critical role by identifying and treating issues early and effectively, helping to create more responsive systems and expanding access to care.

Since 2006, REACH has implemented the Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care (PPP) program to empower PCPs with the knowledge, skills, and comfort to deliver high-quality care for common mental health issues within the unique setting of primary care.

To make critical training for PCPs widely available, REACH works with mission-aligned organizations to help them become certified REACH Training Partners that are licensed to deliver the PPP in their area. As a REACH Training Partner, your organization can enhance the mental health capabilities of your PCPs, expand care access, and ensure more children receive timely, effective mental health care from a trusted provider in your community.

What is a REACH Training Partner?

An institution, organization, or health system that is licensed by REACH to deliver the REACH PPP program to PCPs in a defined geographic area. REACH currently has four Training Partners:

  • Virginia Mental Health Access Program (VMAP)
  • Duke University
  • University of Saskatchewan
  • CanREACH

Why Become a REACH Training Partner?

As a REACH Training Partner, you will strengthen your mental health system and ensure that all PCPs in your region, now and in the future, receive the very best training on mental health care that is tailored to the real-world context of primary care.

  • Drive System-level Impact
Equip all PCPs in your network or region with the skills and confidence to deliver life-changing mental health care to children and families.
  • Leverage a Proven Model
Achieve your PCP training goals while saving time and resources by adopting a program that has demonstrated impact for nearly 20 years.
  • Stay Current with the Latest Tools and Resources
REACH regularly updates PPP units and content, ensuring PCPs hone their skills in the most effective, evidence-based mental health strategies available.

After seeing the benefits of the PPP, we knew we needed to make it available for all providers, both present and future, that we serve.

With that goal in mind, we worked with REACH to become licensed to deliver the PPP continuously and sustainably in the state of Virginia. The REACH Institute proved to be an amazing partner to help us develop our own faculty talent and teaching. We have been delivering training, both online and in-person, as a licensed site since 2021.

Because of REACH, over 1 million! (and counting) kids and teens across the state have access to a trusted provider in their community who can provide effective, timely mental health care.
