Change is always hard, but easier with teamwork.
It was, and continues to be, a supportive, invigorating process! It was motivating and has increased my confidence in assessment, diagnosis of mental health cases in my day to day life and practice.
in this time where demand clearly outweighs supply of services, is going to be excellent for me as a PCP in my community.
I think that is due to the engaging, hands-on and fun format. It kept me engaged throughout. Also, I feel like the materials we received are sending me out into the world armed with the tools I need to put the information I learned into practice.
As the PCP, I would normally refer to psychiatry or psychology, but I would now feel more capable to handle the more straightforward cases.
The specific tools provided (for screening, treatment, and follow-up) and the network of providers are so valuable for sustaining this in practice.
Following the course, I now feel empowered, equipped and most importantly, supported to go back home and implement meaningful change in my practice.
The six months of followup with help implementing changes in practice is invaluable!
I will take away a renewed appreciation for assessment tools, a new comfort with treatment plans, and an excitement for future partnerships
