Irene Chern, MD, is a pediatric resident in Philadelphia, PA, where most of her patients are on Medicaid, and is conducting research related to children’s mental health and chronic illness. Certified as a multilingual clinician in Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, she is committed to mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. To improve access to mental health care for as many children as possible, she will apply her REACH training to her work as a practitioner and mentor. She will also use her research to illuminate pediatric mental health access and outcomes.
