Meet our 2025 Round One PPP Scholarship Recipients

Our 2025 Round One scholarship recipients include 25 outstanding primary care providers dedicated to increasing access to effective mental health care for their communities. From rural Louisiana to urban Ohio to school-based clinics in California, these pediatric providers are leading efforts to integrate mental and behavioral health care into primary care settings. With their REACH training, they will gain essential skills to assess, diagnose, and manage common mental health conditions—while also mentoring peers, advocating for systemic change, and expanding access to care in the communities they serve.

Tara Apriletti, NP

Tara Apriletti, NP, is a nurse practitioner at a school-based clinic in Oakland, CA, where she provides integrated care at a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). She is a strong advocate for inclusive, affirming care for LGBTQIAA+ youth and is also part of her clinic’s working group on eating disorders. Through her REACH training, she hopes to enhance clinic-wide policies and procedures, collaborate more effectively with her multidisciplinary team, and become more active in statewide advocacy for improved mental health services.

Rebecca Boscaljon, MD

Rebecca Boscaljon, MD, is a pediatrician in Las Vegas, NV, passionate about mental health care advocacy. She is also a champion for inclusive language and always aims to provide a safe space for her diverse patients. She plans to use her REACH training to encourage legislative improvements in children’s mental health care and better support unhoused populations.

Andrea Brown, PA-C

Andrea Brown, PA-C, is a pediatric provider in Henderson, NV, passionate about legislative advocacy, school-based mental health, and parent education. Drawing from experience at an LGBTQ+ clinic, she champions intersectional care and plans to host community workshops and promote telehealth to reach underserved families. She hopes to use her REACH training to advocate for systemic change, promote school-based services, empower families, and expand access through community education and telehealth initiatives.

Tamika Bryant, MD

Tamika Bryant, MD, is a pediatrician in Sugar Hill, GA, always seeking to intentionally reflect on her own biases and build trust with underserved patients. She hopes her REACH training will increase her comfort in treating complex cases and enhance her ability to identify children needing additional mental health support.

Joane Cadet, MD

Joane Cadet, MD, is a pediatrician in Royal Palm Beach, FL, primarily serving newly immigrated families from Latin America with dedication and cultural sensitivity. She hopes to use her new skills to support her colleagues and be a champion in a network-wide pilot aimed at expanding access to mental health services.

Jackyln Chan, MD

Jackyln Chan, MD, is a pediatrician in Diamond Bar, CA, who supports a predominantly Chinese-speaking immigrant community. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and Spanish, she plans to create multilingual educational materials and videos to promote access to mental health services. She hopes to use her REACH training to develop culturally appropriate resources to help parents access community-based mental health support.

Sheila Dominic, NP

Sheila Dominic, NP, is a nurse practitioner in Oakland, CA, working with majority immigrant families from Mexico and Central America. She trains recent NP graduates and promotes culturally sensitive care through shared decision-making, language access, and community engagement. Her REACH training will help her support her colleagues and train new clinicians in behavioral health care and expand mental health capacity across her practice.

Michelle Floyd, MD

Michelle Floyd, MD, is a pediatrician and medical director in Coral Gables, FL. She works with a diverse patient population and collaborates with behavioral health hubs to improve services for children on Medicaid. Her REACH training will support her leadership in resident education and advocacy. She plans to use the training to deepen her work with a Florida behavioral health hub, train family medicine residents, and improve access to services for children with Medicaid.

Danielle Gamez, NP, is a nurse practitioner in Parrish, FL. She brings compassion and consistency to all her patients, regardless of race, sex, age, or gender orientation, and plans to educate her clinical team to improve mental health care across the board. Her REACH training will empower her to guide her care team in addressing pediatric mental health issues more effectively.

Jenifer Haynes, DO

Jenifer Haynes, DO, is a pediatrician in Lutz, FL, and Director of Pediatrics at Florida’s largest FQHC. She leads a new residency program and is dedicated to training providers to confidently manage common mental health concerns. Her REACH training will expand services and improve continuity of care for uninsured and Medicaid patients. She plans to use her training to build confidence among her department and residents in diagnosing and managing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and other conditions, freeing up specialists for more complex cases.

Carmen Ives, NP, is a nurse practitioner in Orlando, FL, specializing in care for children of diverse backgrounds and complex mental health needs. Through collaborative training, outreach, and advocacy, she aims to improve community-wide access to inclusive, culturally tailored mental health care. She will use her REACH training to engage in collaborative education, policy advocacy, and outreach initiatives that improve care quality and accessibility.

Jieun Kim, NP, serves immigrant families in Clovis, CA, where access to behavioral health specialists is extremely limited for Medicaid patients. She serves a very diverse community and is always working to deepen her cultural sensitivity and understanding. She plans to use her REACH training to expand evidence-based treatment in her clinic and increase awareness through education among colleagues and the broader community.

Cristina Kim, NP, is a nurse practitioner in Chula Vista, CA. Bilingual in Spanish, she provides compassionate, intersectional care and connects families with resources. She plans to use the training to educate peers, promote community screenings, and expand awareness about mental health management through outreach and advocacy.

Animisha Kommera, MD, is a pediatrician in Cleveland, OH, serving inner-city families facing significant social disparities. She’s committed to providing inclusive and equitable care to all patients, and she plans to use her REACH training to mentor peers, develop referral pathways, and promote mental health access through outreach and education.

Alison McGrorty-Crotts, MD, MPH

Alison McGrorty-Crotts, MD, MPH, is a pediatrician in Dresher, PA, where she cares for vulnerable communities. She founded a dignity-preserving “market” at her clinic where any patient can access free food, hygiene products, and more basic needs, and she hopes to use her REACH training to promote whole-child health and educate colleagues on integrating behavioral health into everyday care.

Mary Beth Miotto, MD

Mary Beth Miotto, MD, is a pediatrician in Northborough, MA. A leader in the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, she has developed Complex ADHD and Autism Clinics at FQHCs to better support her patients with barriers to access. With REACH, she hopes to continue supporting fellow providers on overcoming cultural and language barriers in underserved families and advocating for reimbursement policies that expand pediatric access.

Maria Luiza Montenegro Seleguim, MD, is a pediatric resident in St. Louis, MO, where she works to ensure language and cultural barriers never prevent patients from accessing effective care. She plans to share her new knowledge with over 60 co-residents in her program and collaborate with local policymakers to improve mental health care access on a broader scale.

Hali Nguyen, MD, is a pediatrician in Irving, TX, where she provides care to under- or uninsured patients, many who also have language barriers. With her REACH training, she hopes to ensure that her patients receive more timely and equitable care, and also mentor fellow residents in managing common mental health concerns.

Jessica Rash, NP, is a nurse practitioner in Texas City, TX, committed to ensuring schools and low-income families have access to mental health resources, regardless of insurance status. She delivers consistent, compassionate care to all patients and hopes to use her REACH training to be a stronger advocate for community and school-based mental health access.

Saranya Ravichandran, MD, is a pediatrician in Sharpsburg, GA. She’s passionate about creating open, inclusive clinical spaces where adolescents are respected and affirmed and parents are empowered. With her REACH training, she aims to educate families and schools to recognize and address mental health concerns early, expanding access to care for her community.

Angela Reese, MD, is a pediatrician in Lavonia, GA, working creatively to meet the needs of each individual she sees and create a judgment-free environment. Her approach fosters empowerment for her young patients and their families. She plans to use her REACH training to collaborate with schools, create dedicated mental health clinic days, and become a more effective resource for families facing barriers to mental health care.

Chanon Ridore, NP, is a nurse practitioner in Woodbury, MN. She developed a CBT-based program for children with anxiety and depression and ensures services are accessible after hours. She uses interpreters and flexible scheduling to meet families where they are. She hopes to expand her clinic-based CBT program using REACH tools to better support children with mild to moderate mental health conditions.

Brittany Salley-Rains, NP, is a school-based nurse practitioner in Vancouver, WA, who manages complex mental health conditions in primary care. She advocates for inclusive clinic spaces, multilingual resources, and greater confidence among colleagues in treating pediatric behavioral health needs. She plans to use her REACH training to better triage cases, expand care capacity at her FQHC, and mentor clinicians who are reluctant to manage behavioral health issues.

Marché Smith, MD, is a pediatrician in Fairburn, GA, passionate about removing mental health stigma in underserved communities. She collaborates with families to honor cultural preferences and expands outreach through community partnerships and education events. She will use her REACH training to support community education and equip local organizations with accurate, culturally sensitive mental health information.

Kali Taylor, MD, is a pediatrician in Houma, LA, where she collaborates with schools and community organizations to address maternal and child mental health. She leads postpartum depression screening and crisis evaluations, ensuring care equity in a region recovering from Hurricane Ida. Her REACH training will deepen partnerships with schools and public health programs to deliver trauma-informed care and strengthen family resilience.
