Treatment for Disruptive Behavior Disorders (DBDs)

Audience

Description

The Treatment for Disruptive Behavior Disorders course equips clinicians with structured, evidence-based approaches to identifying, diagnosing, and treating DBDs in children and adolescents. This training will teach you to empower parents and caregivers with effective strategies to promote positive behavior and improve family dynamics, while helping children develop self-regulation, problem-solving, and social competence skills.

Participants will receive a structured treatment manual with session-by-session guidelines and reproducible client handouts.

This training consists of two key components:

  1. Dynamic, One-Day Workshop –  A live, interactive workshop where you’ll learn the latest, evidence-based behavioral interventions for DBDs and how to coach parents and caregivers to implement practical behavior management strategies.
  1. Case-Based Learning Calls – A series of six calls over three months, where participants present real client cases, share their approach in applying course learnings, and receive coaching and feedback from their peers and REACH’s expert faculty.

Course Goals

  • Diagnose and monitor symptoms using standardized rating scales.
  • Teach children essential self-regulation, problem-solving, and social competence skills.
  • Support and coach parents and caregivers in implementing effective, practical behavior management strategies.
