School collaboration is one of the most effective tools PCPs have for supporting a child’s mental health and educational success, but more than 40% of primary care clinicians report frequent challenges working with schools. This course gives you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to partner with school personnel and families, turning a frustrating gap in care into a genuine clinical advantage.
This course has two components:
- A full-day interactive workshop focused on building skills and confidence in partnering with educators, through case vignettes and small-group practice.
- Four case-based group learning calls over two months — one hour each — where you present cases from your own practice and put your learning to work.
Participants can earn up to 10.25 CME credits for both components.

Empower families with effective strategies to address absenteeism, school refusal, and school suspensions
Support families in understanding and navigating school disciplinary practices

This course is built for pediatric primary care clinicians — pediatricians, family physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants — who want to collaborate more effectively with schools to support the mental health and educational needs of their patients.
Children spend most of their day at school — and school staff often see mental health challenges first. Knowing how to partner with educators makes you a more effective advocate for your patients and their families.
You’ll be able to help families navigate 504 Plans and IEPs, address absenteeism and school refusal, support families through disciplinary processes, and use effective billing and coding strategies for school-related clinical work.
504 Accommodation Plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are federally supported school plans that provide accommodations and services for students with disabilities or mental health needs. This course teaches you how to help families access and navigate both.
The course has two components: a full-day interactive workshop using case vignettes and small-group practice, followed by four one-hour case-based group calls over two months where you present cases and receive expert coaching.

The PPP covers the full range of pediatric mental health conditions across three days. This course focuses specifically on school collaboration — the systems, tools, and conversations that help you extend your care beyond the clinic.
Cancellations made 20 or more days before the course receive a 90% refund. Refunds decrease on a sliding scale closer to the course date. Transfers to another session are available within 12 months of registration
